Project Overview
The client needed to replace a fleet of obsolete remote terminal units (RTUs) that no longer met operational, safety, or compliance requirements. Aging equipment, inconsistent configurations, and outdated documentation created growing risks to system reliability and made it difficult to maintain accurate gas‑flow measurement and Hazardous Area compliance. The client required a modern, fully integrated automation solution—with accurate drawings, verified field data, and dependable execution across a large, multi‑year program. To meet this need, LSC provided end‑of‑lifecycle automation support by replacing the outdated RTUs with modern platforms, including Bristol’s ControlWave Micro, the AutoPilot Pro, and the FloBoss 3000. LSC updated existing drawings using high‑resolution 3D laser‑scanning data to ensure every facility record accurately reflected real‑world conditions. Facility inspections verified Hazardous Area compliance and confirmed that all metering runs contained the correct instrumentation to meet AGA gas‑flow calculation requirements—resulting in a safer, more reliable, and fully compliant automation system ready for long‑term operation.
